Chicas Poderosas Event -Day 2

Well, after attending the first day and meeting all these wonderful ladies and learning some brilliant tips, I just had to attend the next day to follow through with the schedule. The Chicas Poderosas Event – Day 2 was held at  FIU Miami Beach Urban Studio and was just as amazing as the first and with more interesting ideas such as social media, radio , digital portfolio and for fun: Brazilian jiu jitsu.

It is great to hear how  much the media has made an impact on our lives and how much we enhance their lives as well since we contribute to the news and media. It was amazing to hear that the constant update on media sometimes causes conflict of interest but we just need to adapt to our use and make it work to our benefit. We need to be adaptable to social media in order to overcome obstacles. The obstacles or diversions enables us to become more creative and enhance our investments or projects.

There are so many great stories of accomplishment and it is pays off with determination and persistence. Positive thoughts goes a long way in attaining that goal. Your creativity stimulates your audience and creates an awesome effect which is your support or feedback and motivates you to go that extra mile. As a student, internship is necessary but your creativity and persuasion makes a difference and going that extra mile to show what you can do for yourself and ultimately your company or who you care to impress in your workplace.

We certainly enjoy our time with Mike Costa and Kent Hernández creating a digital portfolio. It was fascinating to see how each individual’s portfolio is unique and interesting. We learn how creative and productive a person is with a glance at their digital portfolio. Well, a picture tells a thousand words. 

 

These gentlemen showed how a simple website, blog or portfolio can help one to sell one’s self. They shared how each image and font can tell a story if used appropriately.  It is wonderful to see how a brilliant portfolio sells itself and captivates the audience and perspective employer.

It is wonderful to learn how effective podcasting was and is playing a part in our lives today. This gentleman enlighten us regarding his experience and how persistence paid off on his part as he continues his journey in radio/podcasting. It is amazing to see how much the games are a part of the podcasting world. He (Gamer Tag Radio) was happy to tell how much his simple way of Podcasting made it in a big way.

It was quite interesting to hear the speakers for radio and how much it is still a part of our technical world today. It is quite effective how production is put to capture the audio audience. I was impressed on the details it needed but happy with the result that I hear with the documentary/report or story that is given.

On a rather serious note, Fiorella Coto Segnini shared her point on real ‪#‎girlpower‬ and what it means to be oneself. At the end of the day, World Champion Jiu-jitsu brasileiro taught us a little bit of jiu-jitsu.
