In Alberta, our regulated rate for natural gas is called the Gas Cost Flow-Through Rate (GCFR) and fluctuates each month due to factors including supply and demand and weather changes.
Residential Electricity Rates
In Alberta, our regulated rate for electricity is called the Regulated Rate Option (RRO). The RRO fluctuates each month due to factors including supply and demand and weather changes.
The Alberta government put in place a regulated rate cap of 13.5 cents per kWh for the months of January 2023 through March 2023. From April 2023 through December 2024, recovery for the cost of this rate cap will be included in the regulated electricity rate.
